QUINTESSENTIAL SECRETS TO GOOD HEALTH

ESSENTIALS OF LIFE ARE:

1 - AIR (OXYGEN)

2 - WATER

3 - NOURISHMENT (FOOD)

4 - SUNLIGHT


DID YOU KNOW ?:

1- Permanent brain damage begins after only 4 minutes without oxygen, and death can occur as soon as 4 to 6 minutes later.

2 - As a general rule of thumb, a person can survive without water for about           3 days.

3 -  The body can survive for 8 to 21 days without food and water and up to two months if there's access to an adequate water intake. 

4 - SUNLIGHT 

Without Sun Light, all plants would die and, eventually, all animals that rely on plants for food — including humans — would die, too.

Oxygen: There is a lot of emphasis on exercise. What does exercise do for the human body ? As we expend energy during exercise the body needs more oxygen and raises your rate of breathing and that means more Oxygen intake..

I have never been disciplined enough to learn Pranayama and Practice it properly but I am aware that friends who do pranayama are is pretty good shape health wise

Need for Drinking Water: 
(this is my understanding)
  • Prevents dehydration
  • Maintains Healthy Blood Volume
  • Helps keep Blood Thin and flowing
  • Reduces Blood Pressure (high blood pressure is a result of thickened blood not flowing through blocked arteries and high blood pressure is the common cause of Strokes due to ruptured arteries in the brain resulting in a bleed)
  • Blood sugar is measured as so many parts per volume of blood. Logic tell me that if the total volume of blood shrinks from dehydration then the percentage of sugar in the blood has to go up.
  • If you are a diabetic test your blood sugar and immediately drink a huge amount of water and test the blood sugars every 15 minutes and you will see the effect of increased blood volume on blood sugars. 
  • So is it possible that diabetics who do not drink water at nights before going to bed to avoid trips to the toilet in the middle of he night will have much higher fasting blood sugars when they wake up as the kidney is doing its job and taking large volume the water out of the blood to the bladder to be emptied
  • Water & HyperAcidity: as we all know stomach produces acids to digest the food we eat. When we are young and healthy we are not interested in food and parents have to force us to eat. 
  • The stomach is programmed by the brain to produce just enough acid to digest what we eat. 
  • As we get older become more affluent, most of us believe that eating is our birth right and we over eat. 
  • When we over eat the stomach produces more acid, as required to ingest what has been eaten. 
  • If the individual is addicted to food and eats large quantities every meal, then the stomach is programmed to constantly produce high volumes of acid as required. 
  • After a period of time say a few years the stomach produces large quantities of acid awaiting constant dumps of food and these acids end up affecting the stomach linings as well as the oesophagal linings for people with Hiatus hernia allowing stomach acids to come up into the oesophagus. 
  • Of course we see the doctor who prescribes antacids tablets, Gaviscon, Losec, Somac, Tazac,  LOSEC is a type of medicine called a proton-pump inhibitor. It works by decreasing the amount of acid made by the stomach, to give relief of symptoms and ...
  • Now think about this, our stomachs are being forced to produce more acids to match our huge food intakes and now on top of it we are taking tablets to decrease the amount of acid produced by the stomach. We should realise that these medications virtually prevent proper digestion of foods consumed as the stomach acids have been toned down. What are we doing and why ?
  • Do you think it makes sense to drink a lot of water to lower the acidity of stomach acids without inhibiting acid productions ?
  • Does it make sense, if I say eating less the stomach will get reprogrammed to produce lesser amount of acids to digest the smaller quantity of food intake
  • The Human body is a Kind of Clock, so if we eat daily at the same time the stomach will produce acids only as needed as opposed to eating 24/7 making the stomach produce acids 24/7
  • We are what we eat

  • Eat to Live but Live Not to Eat

SWEATING: This is most important for a Healthy skin as it clears the pores of the skin and allows the skin to breathe virtually

Air Conditioning: Oh yes it makes you cool and comfortable of a hot day or keeps you warm and snug when it is ice and snow and cold icy winds outside
Do we need air Conditioning always ??

Now Back to Sunlight

SUNLIGHT AND VIT D
Without Sun Light, all plants would die and, eventually, all animals that rely on plants for food — including humans — would die, too. 

While some inventive humans might be able to survive on a Sun-less Earth for several days, months, or even years, life without the Sun would eventually prove to be impossible to maintain on Earth.  Submariners have gone without sunlight for periods exceeding 6-months, using vitamin D supplements




If Sunlight Converts cholesterol on the skin to Vit-D, can lack of sunlight cause high cholestrol ??? ( Something people sitting in Air Conditioned offices and homes most of their Life time have to think about )
I am Glad I spend many hours in the garden :-( 

Vitamin D and Indians :
Since we are from the tropics, we are used to plenty of sunlight and our bodies consequently naturally produce a lot of cholesterol to convert to Vitamin D. By leading a cloistered life and especially living in colder climates with reduced sunlight and in fear of getting sunburned or darkened skin, we Indians are faced with high cholesterol levels with no means of converting it to Vitamin D. 

Consequently we take chemicals to reduce natural cholesterol and Vitamin D supplements to battle low levels of D!  
I think that this might also affect our para-thyroid and hence Thyroid hormonal levels. 

Does this sound Logical ?

Vit - B 12:

Diabetes Patients who are on massive doses of Metformin to lower their Blood Sugar levels will end up with depleted Vitamin B12 and the symptoms depict neurological symptoms like Tingling and Numbness and Migraines

For a HEALTHY LIFE ensure you receive adequate Oxygen, Water and Sunlight all of which are FREE and Eat only what the Body needs

Enjoy your coffee, tea, alcohol and soft drinks but in small quantities

As for managing diabetes by controlling diet I am working on a separate article.

If one is to be healthy, one has to understand and respect the body and treat it with utmost care. In order to do this one has to be Happy within. Converse is also true Healthy people are Happier in general.
